Services

Services for Women and Children Include:

The Drop-in Centre is open Tuesdays and Wednesday 12- 4.  The Recycled and Reclaimed Bag Program, Thursday 12-4

A free clothing store

Free coffee, tea & nutritious food donations

On site Garden Program – planting, socializing, learning, and reaping the nutritious crops

Access to a computer and the internet

A feminist resource centre and library

A children’s play area

Information about health, employment, financial assistance, housing, abuse & assault

Educational workshops

Volunteer opportunities

Opportunities to join various groups and committees

A meeting place for women’s groups

There is ongoing free counselling offered at the Women’s Centre.  Please call for more information


A big thank-you to the Kootenay Coop Bakery, Silverking Tofu, Nelson Food Cupboard and Endless Harvest for their kind donations of food.

COOWS (The Company of Older Women) meet on the last Monday of every month.

Outlet also meets at the Centre sometimes. For more information, call the Youth Centre at 352-5656.

A political feminist group meets at the Centre. Please call the Women’s Centre for more information.

We would like to start an Incest Survivors support group but need to find a counselor to donate time for this, if anyone is interested contact the Centre.
