Donations Welcome!

Donate now through CanadaHelps.org!

There are many ways to donate to the Nelson and District Women’s Centre. Approximately half of Women’s Centre funding is from individuals and local organizations. Without this, we could not remain open. We are beyond appreciative of whatever support individuals and organizations offer us. Different options include:

Sustaining Donor: Committing to making a small monthly donation can be a comfortable and affordable way to donate, and gives the Women’s Centre more security and sustainability than any other type of donation. Click here for a secure way to become a monthly donor. If you have any trouble doing this, please call 250-352-9949 or email ed@nelsonwomenscentre.com for help.

One-Time Monetary Donation: The Women’s Centre appreciates any donation amount, all of which go directly into maintaining the Women’s Centre’s essential services. For an online donation, click here, or talk to us directly at 250-352-9949.

Recycling Bottle Program: The Women’s Centre has an account at the Nelson Junior A Leafs Bottle Depot (120 Silica, near Cottonwood Falls). Just let the Depot know that you would like to designate the money from the bottles to the Women’s Centre, and the folks at the Bottle Depot will put your donation onto our account. We will put the money to good use!

In-kind Donations: The Women’s Centre is currently accepting in-kind donation items for the folks that access the Drop-In Program. We are limited in our ability to accept children’s clothing. Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

We would like to ask members to limit donations to 1 garbage bag per person until further notice.

For more information about in-kind donations, please email anna@nelsonwomenscentre.com or phone 250-352-9916.

“When I come to the Women’s Centre to pick up some bread, a cup of coffee and to scour the free store for a new clothing item, it never feels like charity; it feels like community coming together to take care of each other.”
