International Women’s Day

The West Kootenay Women’s Association would like to invite you to join us on International Women’s Day, Sat March 8th to create a Women’s Resource Fair, share political information and enjoy our annual 5 Feminist Minutes!

We would like to invite you and your Community Service Resource to set up an information table from 2-5pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. We are asking you for $10 for the table to help in sharing the costs of renting the Legion. As there will only be 15 tables available WKWA does encourage organizations to partner and share a table as space is limited.

The Resource Fair is the kick-off to International Women’s Day...
3-5pm: Women’s Resource Fair and Networking Opportunity
5-6pm: Chili Dinner, by donation or free! (and the clearing of Resource Fair)
6-7pm: Political Issues affecting women, WKWA & speakers
7-10pm: Feminist Minutes Tell your friends, prepare a skit or rant or song or whatever you like!!

Please call and let me know if you are interested!!

On behalf of WKWA and the Coordinating Collective, Kathleen Luchtan Coordinator 352-9916

WKWA is selling Cafe Feminino Coffee!

Find out how to be involved in our most recent fundraiser. In an effort to support women coffee producers in Peru and Mexico, and raise money for the Women's Centre, WKWA is selling this delicious, fairly traded, shade grown, organic coffee. Medium and Dark coffee are $14 per bag and Decaf is $15. $4 from each bag sold goes directly to the Women's Centre. Please support women around the world and locally by making your purchases from WKWA.

If you are interested in bringing Cafe Feminino into your establishment contact Shannon Lanaway at 354-1743 or leave a message at the Women's Centre at 352-9916. Check out more details about the cafe feminino story at www.cafefemeninofoundation.org/index.html

Young Women's Group
