Board of Directors

Board of Directors/Coordinating Collective

Our Board of Directors is comprised of up to 11 members, who are either elected by members at the Annual General Meeting or, between AGMs, are appointed by the Board. The directors, together with appointed staff members, form the Coordinating Collective. The CC is the governing body for the West Kootenay Women’s Association (WKWA) which operates the Nelson Women’s Centre. The CC operates by consensus.

Board members bring diverse sets of experience and expertise to the table. They are asked to commit approximately seven hours per month, including monthly meetings that take place on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the evening.

Consider applying to join the Coordinating Collective.

Zoe McCabe
Director

I moved to Canada from England in 2005 and arrived in the Kootenays in 2016. I am so grateful to be raising my family in this beautiful area. Thanks to time spent volunteering with the Women's Centre and making the most of the programs on offer there, I found the confidence to return to school as a mature student and now work for a non-profit organization in the employment services sector. I'm really excited to pay it back by joining the board and supporting women across the West Kootenays!
