Rooted in Community (RIC)

Rooted In Community Volunteer Training Program (RIC)

This comprehensive program is a free opportunity to develop volunteer and support skills and learn about local services. Speakers from local organizations will come in to talk about the resources available in our community.

Participants will examine their understanding of feminism and oppression, develop peer-counseling and listening skills, explore their relationship with self-care and learn about decolonization and reconciliation. This is a safe place to share life experiences and connect with other community-minded folks.

We are specifically looking at accepting women and gender diverse individuals who are interested and willing to commit to 20 hours of volunteering at the Centre upon completion of the program. Many folks go on to volunteer with other agencies as well.

Next offered: Spring 2024
