The Women’s Centre is not only a place where women and children can access services and support, but also strives to be connected with other organizations that provide resources and learning opportunities for women and their families.

Aimee Beaulieu Transition House The Transition House provides safe shelter and support for women and children leaving situations of domestic violence and abuse. You can phone 24/7, 250-354-HELP (4357).

Nelson Community Food Centre The Food Centre strives to create a welcoming environment where people can access healthy food, join a cooking or gardening program, and be a part of a community centred on nutritious food and fun social activities

ANKORS The AIDS Network Kootenay Outreach and Support Society was established in 1992 as a non-profit society. ANKORS provides a multitude of services and programs are based on the belief that services are provided in a non-judgmental manner without prejudice that ensures individual’s right to anonymity and confidential access.

Nelson Community Services Nelson Community Services supports the well-being of families, youth, and individuals in our community by providing counselling, housing, support, and outreach services.

Advocacy Centre The Advocacy Centre is a non-profit, community-based organization which provides legal information, education and problem solving for low-income residents of the Central Kootenays. The centre also provides specialized victim assistance to victims of relationship violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

Nelson Cares Society Through community collaboration and service excellence, Nelson CARES Society works toward a socially just society by providing programs and initiatives in advocacy, housing, employment, support services, and environmental stewardship.

Kootenay Career Development Society The Kootenay Career Development Society is a dynamic, diverse and change-responsive centre of excellence that empowers individuals, employers and communities economically and socially through career development, employment counselling, and human resource planning.

Kootenay Feminism The Kootenay Feminism website was launched on March 7, 2010, and is a digital timeline of second wave feminism in the Kootenays. Archival material has been digitized and made into a beautiful and searchable website, a rich resource for generations to come. 

Kootenay Kids Society Kootenay Kids delivers a wide range of programs and services including licensed childcare, indigenous family programs, resources for childcare providers, physiotherapy and occupational therapy for young children, parent education programs, and opportunities for families to connect with each other.
