Queer Drop-in Program

Queer Drop-in is catered towards gender diverse folks, the queer community, and our amazing allies! It’s running every Fridays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. We will be making Vegan, gluten-free meals every week and will have a selection of games and crafts available.

This program is hosted by Lauren who is a proud member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. She is excited to create a safe inclusive space for the community to gather, connect, and access shared resources.

Please note, regular drop-in services will be available, including the free store, access to computers, referrals and more.

 

 

Beading Workshop

Come to our free beading workshop at the Women’s Centre hosted by Suzzannee Chappell.
Sponsored by the Centre and Abacus Beads.
Workshops will explore various Indigenous beadwork styles.
Bring a simple design of your own.

Online Silent Auction in Collaboration with International Women’s Day

The Nelson & District Women’s Centre is proud to announce that we will host a silent auction the week of International Women’s Day to raise funds and awareness for local women, bidding will begin Monday March 7, 2022 at 8:00am and end on Saturday March 12 at 8:00pm.

Themed auction items include Breaking the Bias Baskets, Let’s Hear it for the Girls (items to support the girls and teens in our community), as well as Indulge and Restore items (which will include some impressive higher-end auction items to nourish you and your loved ones).  There will be something for everyone, with price points suitable for all spending budgets.  Let’s have some fun while raising some funds for the women in our community!

The 32auctions platform will be utilized to facilitate this fundraising initiative, when we have finalized all auction items our auction URL will be available for everyone to share widely with friends and family members!

When successful bidders are established for each auction item on Saturday March 12 after 8:00pm, winners will be required to contact the Centre to finalize payment and pick-up arrangements.  Payment can be made via e-transfer, cash, or check.  All auction items will be available for pick-up the week of March 14-18 2022
